just published their new book, The Educator’s Guide to Designing Games and
Creative Active-Learning Exercises: The Allure of
Play.*
Tori and Joe discuss why active learning and play are
so important in teaching and learning, and they both
share their favorite “go to”
activities to promote student engagement, encourage
connection and sharing, and of course, improve learning.
And, as we bring the episode to a close, they
share tips and recommendations to help get students,
and faculty, “buy in” to the playful learning environment
which often goes against the norms and traditions we see in higher
education.
